Careless

Grand Cayman Island, 2015

As I am getting older I am told by the pressures of society to take responsibility, watch your actions, do this, do that. The laundry list of obligations and tasks just seem to never end.

But it’s funny. I have been relaxing, meditating, and spending time with my Daddy, and He’s been telling the exact opposite. He whispers to my soul, “be careless in Me, my daughter; I will do the work.” So I will do just that.

In the past I feel like I have spent so much time trying to compensate or pay back for my wrongs, trying to work harder to make God love me. But He again spoke and is continuing to speak to my heart by telling me, Beloved, there is nothing you can do to make me love you less, and there is nothing you can do to make me love you more. There is nothing that can separate you from my love. I love you just enough.

How do I know this is the case? Well let’s check out Romans 8: 38. Paul says:

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Paul just about summed it all up! Bam! Period! The end! Lol. I don’t think there is much else to say about love. That is the prototype, the absolute best example of love! No matter what we do, what we have done, what we will do, His love for us never changes. Now that’s unconditional love right there.

And I know I can never fully grasp how great the Father’s love for me really is, but the more I meditate on it the more careless I become. And I know careless is such an odd term to use. But God wants us to do just that. As I was sitting reading various scriptures on God’s love these past two mornings, He asked me, If you know I loves you so much, then what is there to worry about? …Cricket cricket…Yeah I had no come back to that question. So I said to myself, Jenn, if you know God loves you why do you fret? Believe His love is enough, and act like you know it!

His love tells me my past doesn’t matter, because the blood of Jesus covered it. My present is a-okay too, because God says not to worry, gives me peace, and says He will make my path straight when I seek Him (Philippians 4:6-7, Proverbs 3:5, Matthew 6:33). Any my future is absolutely fabulous and perfect, also, because I know all things work out for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28). And I surely do love Him.

That just about covers every moment of my life—past, present, and future! Wow, how awesome.

So as I start this new year, I will be careless in the care of God. I can trust Him (Proverbs 3:5); He loves me (John 3:16); He won’t withhold any good thing from me (Psalm 84:11); He began and will continue a good work in me, and He won’t stop till He’s finished (Philippians 1:6); He has big plans for me (Jeremiah 29:11, 1 Corinthians 2:9). And God loves you all the same.

Will you join me as we step out of the cycle of trying to fix, trying to do, trying to make up for and just be free and careless as we surrender it all to Him?

Know Jesus loves you like nobodies business!! Enjoy resting in His goodness.

Much Love,

Jenn

Read the Lyrics Below. So Powerful!

You're taking perfect care of me. I don't have to worry about a thing.

You are taking perfect care of me. I don't have to worry about a thing

About a thing.

You are taking perfect care of me. I don't have to worry about a thing.

You are taking perfect care of me. I don't have to worry about a thing.

Oh, oh. Oh, oh. Oh, oh. Ah, ya.

Always you have been and always you will be-- faithful, you're faithful, you're faithful to me.

Always you have been and always you will be-- faithful, you're faithful, you're faithful to me.

You're faithful, you're faithful to me.

You've already won every fight that comes my way.

You've already won and you wear the victors crown on your head.

You've already conquered fear and death and sin and shame.

It is you, you, you, you.

Christ the Lord.

Christ the Lord.

It's always been you.

And it will always be.
